The Board of Education of Chester County School District is pleased to announce that Keith Callicutt was appointed as Interim Superintendent at last night’s meeting (9/30/15). In order to maintain stability and to continue properly administering our schools, Dr. Callicutt’s employment will begin immediately. Dr. Callicutt will receive the same daily rate of pay as our previous Superintendent.
The Board is very pleased that Dr. Callicutt has agreed to assume the responsibility for providing leadership to our District during the transition period while we begin the process to search for the District's next Superintendent. Dr. Callicutt is a graduate of Chester High School and Clemson University. Dr. Callicutt earned a master’s degree in elementary education from Francis Marion University and an educational specialist degree from Winthrop University. Dr. Callicutt also earned his Ph.D. in educational administration from the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Callicutt has been a public educator for over forty years and has had broad experience throughout South Carolina. Dr. Callicutt was the District Superintendent in Florence School District 5 for a number of years and has previously served as a District Superintendent in Newberry County School District, and most recently Fort Mill School District until his retirement in 2010. Since his retirement, he has remained active in public education and most recently served as Interim Superintendent in Florence School District 3.
The Board appreciates Dr. Callicutt’s willingness to serve and is confident in his professional ability and integrity. Further, Board members trust that District employees and members of our community will join us in supporting one of our own as the new Interim Superintendent of Chester County.
