As an instructor in the Business Program, I am passionate about teaching students how to be successful in the workplace. Career and technical education is designed to prepare students for employment. This includes crucial skills such as being on time, communicating clearly, collaborating with others, and thinking outside of the box when needed. All workers need these skills whether they are in business, working as a mechanic, in graphic design, healthcare, manufacturing or hospitality. These are the skills that are blended into all CTE classes and especially into business classes to prepare students for the higher level of communication and critical thinking that is often required in the workplace.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Management degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master in Business Administration degree from East Carolina University. I believe education is the key to fulfilling dreams large and small. People who know how to learn and problem solve will find a way to do the things they want to do.

    About Me

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Management degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master in Business Administration degree from East Carolina University. I came to Chester from St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC where I taught business and coached an equestrian team for 21 years.

Prior to the pandemic, I enjoyed traveling. This picture is from 2015 when I traveled to India for a 5 week exploration of the country. We visited the Taj Mahal and went on a 12 day trek in the Himalayas. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, photography, and hanging out at the lake with my husband, our 2 dogs and 3 cats.
