What is Accent?
Activities for Capable Children with Exceptional Needs and Talents
ACCENT is a pullout enrichment program for gifted and talented students in third, fourth, and fifth grades. Students are eligible for ACCENT based on qualifying test scores. In ACCENT, students work on an advanced and accelerated curriculum, including ELA, Math, Logic/Critical Thinking, and Unit Studies in Science or Social Studies. ACCENT for third grade students is one half day per week. Fourth and fifth grade students go to ACCENT one full day each week.

Mrs. Jennifer Rosborough
Hello! My name is Jennifer Rosborough, and I am a GT teacher for Chester County School District. I teach a pull-out program called ACCENT throughout various schools in the district. Before becoming an ACCENT teacher, I taught for eight years in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades.
I was born and raised in Chester County, and I graduated as Valedictorian from Chester High in 2005. I then attended Clemson University and graduated as Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Elementary Education in 2009. As a teacher, I try my best to present the learning in a personalized and meaningful way for each of my students. I love to use songs, drawing, interactive notebooks, or rhymes to enhance their experiences in school.On a personal note, I love to spend time with my family and friends. My husband and I were married in Charleston, one of our favorite places, on September 19, 2009. My sons, Alex and Lucas, are my greatest joys in life, and I love spending time with them and watching them learn and grow. I enjoy reading, shopping, cooking or baking, and taking weekend trips with my family and friends...and, of course, I love my Clemson TIGERS!
Mrs. Susan Lalli
Welcome to ACCENT! I am Susan Lalli and I teach gifted and talented classes at all the elementary schools in Chester County. I earned my undergraduate degree from Winthrop University and my graduate degree from USC. I taught first grade for 11 years before becoming an ACCENT teacher which I have been doing ever since. I love teaching ACCENT and enjoy traveling to the different schools meeting all children!
I am married and have two sons and a daughter. I enjoy reading, spending time with family, going to the lake, and Clemson games! -
Rules and Expectations
RULES AND EXPECTATIONS
1. RESPECT is the rule, the rule is RESPECT. Students are expected to show respect to teachers, other students, and all classroom materials.2. COOPERATION is key. Students will be expected to work together in partners or small groups frequently.
3. GRADES are important. Students in ACCENT are expected to maintain classroom grades of at least a "C" or better in each subject. Ideally, students should be on honor roll.
4. If a student is at school on ACCENT day, he/she is expected to attend ACCENT unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
