Mr. John Sedrick Melgar

Hello. My name is John Sedrick A. Melgar, a father with two daughters. I'm from the Philipines. I am currently residing in Rock Hill, SC. I am an enthusiastic teacher who have been teaching for more than fifteen years and love to teach Mathematics and Research related subjects.

I finished my elementary and high school education in Talibon, Bohol, Philippines which is also my birthplace. I graduated college in Blessed Trinity College, a religious private school in Bohol run by Augustinian Recollect Sisters. I graduated my Master in Education major Mathematics at Cebu Technological University - Cebu, Philippines. As of now, I earned 42 units in Doctor of Philosophy major Research and Evaluation at Cebu Normal University - Cebu, Philippines.

Previously, I was connected to Canduman National High School, Mandaue City, Philippines as a senior high school teacher. I handled subjects such as Probability and Statistic, General Mathematics, Basic Accounting, and Practical Research. I also taught in Consolacion Community College, Cebu, Philippines as a College Instructor and the Head of Student Affairs for four years. I also have teaching experiences from other prominent schools in Cebu and Bohol such as Maria Montessori International School, Cebu International High School, Marie Ernestine School, and Cristal eCollege.

I am a person who is not afraid to try new things. Continuation of learning is key for any professional development and for educators it is a must in order for us to grow professionally. I enrolled PhD program at Cebu Normal University as part of quest to learn comprehensively about conducting or writing research. PhD level of education has allowed me to gain new knowledge and skills in my field of specialization as well as new perspectives in teaching.

As a teacher entrusted with the education of young minds, I facilitate learning and growth academically, personally, and ethically. By providing a quality education to each individual in one's classroom, I equip my students with the tools necessary for success in life. According to Tiger Woods “If you are given a chance to be a role model, I think you should always take it because you can influence a person's life in a positive light, and that's what I want to do. That's what it's all about”. In choosing to become a teacher, I have made the commitment to myself and my future students to be the best academic, personal, and ethical role model I can be. It is my goal to have a mutually enriching teaching career by keeping an open mind and continually communicating with my peers and students. I am prepared to rise to the challenges of teaching the millennials, and I promise to try to provide an honest, well-rounded education to every student I encounter.
