My name is Krislynne Stowe, and I am the Band Director at Great Falls High School! I am originally from Mount Croghan, SC and attended Chesterfield High School in Chesterfield, SC. During my middle and high school years, I was a member of the marching band, concert band, and jazz band. My primary instrument is the French Horn! I participated in District, Region, and Allstate band clinics and was a member of the South Carolina Youth Wind Symphony. I also took part in annual band clinics at USC and Winthrop. Throughout my six seasons in marching band, we won four consecutive 1A Lower State Championships and a 1A State Championship.
I attended Lander University where I was a member of the wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, and brass quintet. Additionally, I served on the executive board of both the Student Government Association and the National Association for Music Education. I was a member of the Intercollegiate Honor Band for three years. I graduated in May with a B.S. in Music Education and maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my studies. I was awarded the Music Discipline Award in 2020 and the Turner Music Award in 2021 and 2022. While in college, I worked with the marching bands at both Dixie High School and Laurens District 55 High School. In my final semester, I did my student teaching at Edgewood Middle School and Ninety Six High School. I now reside in Rock Hill, SC with my cat, Wobbles.
I am so excited to be teaching at Great Falls High School. I can’t wait to see where this program goes, and I look forward to working with each and every one of you!
