CCSD's proposed bond referendum did not secure the votes needed for passage. While we are disappointed, we deeply respect the democratic process and are immensely thankful for the community members who engaged in thoughtful discussions, offered feedback, and cast their votes.
The bond referendum was designed to address critical areas in our high schools, including facility upgrades, classroom expansions, safety improvements, and investments in technology to enhance learning environments. Although the outcome was not what we had hoped, the needs that the bond would have addressed, still remain. We understand that the responsibility now rests on us to consider alternative approaches and work with the resources available.
The dialogue generated through this referendum has been invaluable, and your feedback has given us a clearer understanding of community priorities and concerns. Moving forward, our goal is to continue this open dialogue, to listen and learn, and to explore how we can still achieve our shared goals for our schools and students. Our school board and district leadership will also evaluate options for addressing critical improvements within our current budget and re-evaluating potential paths forward.
Thank you for your dedication to our students and for your continued commitment to making the Chester County School District a place where all children can thrive. Together, we can find a way to ensure our schools remain safe, welcoming, and inspiring places for learning.
