Terri Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Finance

Ms. Terri Smith brings 9 years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent of Finance, having served in multiple school districts across South Carolina and Colorado. She holds certification from the South Carolina Association of School Business Officials and earned a Master’s degree in Governmental Accounting.

Her broad experience in school finance and operations positions her well to support our needs in Chester County.


Dr. Jermain Greene

Dr. Jermaine Greene is a 23-year educator who is a native of Spartanburg, SC. Dr. Greene is a product of Spartanburg School District Three schools, graduating from Broome High School in 1998.

Dr. Greene holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Furman University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Converse College.  In 2022, he earned his Doctor of Education from Converse University in Professional Leadership.

Dr. Greene has served as a teacher, coach, mentor, and administrator in Spartanburg School Districts Three and Six. Before coming to Chester County, he served as the Vice Principal at Broome High School.   

Dr. Greene believes that relationships, education, and purpose are essential. He believes that without knowledge, relationships, and a sense of purpose, he would not be able to serve the community effectively. Dr. Greene is married to Dr. Syreeta Greene, and from this union, they have three children. Most importantly, Dr. Greene knows that without grace, mercy, blessings, and the support and opportunities provided by educators and family, he would not be in the position to lead and assist others through service.

Christy Matkovich

Ms. Christy Matkovich brings over 20 years of experience in education, including service as a Teacher, Assistant Principal, and, most recently, Principal in the Fort Mill School District. She is known for her commitment to academic excellence, inclusive learning environments, and staff development.

Her leadership is grounded in collaboration, innovation, and a student-centered approach. We are confident that Ms. Matkovich will provide strong leadership and continuity in this role.


Clayton Moton

Mr. Clayton Moton boasts a combined 26 years of successful elementary and middle school experience in various capacities of leadership, including as a decorated classroom Teacher, Head Coach of several championship sports teams, Athletics Director, reputable Assistant Principal, and award-winning Principal. He has a diversified background of educational practices and approaches, including Middle Years International Baccalaureate (MY-IB) and AdvancED accredited STEM/STEAM educational approaches, project-based learning (PBL) and 21st Century innovative practices.

Mr. Moton earned his bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at the University of South Carolina Upstate (1999) and his master's degree in Educational Leadership at Cambridge College in Cambridge, Massachusetts (2008).

Mr. Moton is a three-time National Schools to Watch principal. His professional networks include Digital Promise National Network, Future of Technology in Education, National Association of Secondary School Principals, National Forum for Middle Grades Reform, South Carolina Education Association, South Carolina Association of Middle Level Educators, Winthrop University Administrator Internship Partnership, and the Franklin Covey The Leader in Me Certification and Development Network. Mr. Moton has been a featured presenter at the SC Association for Middle Level Educators annual conference and the National Forum for Middle Grades Reform Annual Conference.

Russell Brown

Mr. Russell Brown, Jr. brings a strong background in education and leadership, with experience as Dean of Students at Rawlinson Road Middle School, as well as a business education teacher at both Nation Ford High School and Lancaster County Career Center. He holds a Master of Arts in School Administration and has been actively involved in MTSS leadership and school behavior initiatives.
