Dr. Tammy Taylor is currently the principal at Great Falls Elementary School, where she has entered her tenth year of principalship. She has spent her entire career serving others as a classroom teacher, teaching both fourth and first grades, respectively, at Chester Park Intermediate School, Chester Park Primary School, Chester Park Year-round School, and Chester Park Elementary School of Inquiry. 

She has served as an Instructional Coach, Instructional Coordinator, Director of Instruction, Accountability, Testing, Federal Projects, and Early Childhood and Elementary Instruction.  Dr. Taylor is currently the President of the South Carolina Early Childhood Association for District 3.  She is also an executive board member of the South Carolina SCECA State Board, where she serves as Parliamentarian, the University of South Carolina Principal Advisory Board, the Winthrop University NET-Serve Advisory Board, and the National and South Carolina Education Associations.  Dr. Taylor is also a member of the International Association of Women.  Her school turn-around efforts, working alongside her incredible staff, have led to her school being featured for an NWEA Case Study, as well as being invited to serve as an Edmentum Showcase School in South Carolina and across the country.

 Dr. Taylor has a Bachelor’s Degree from Winthrop University and National Board Certification in Early Childhood (Generalist – NBCT).  She has Masters and Educational Specialist Degrees in Educational Leadership, from Winthrop and Cambridge Universities, and a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of South Carolina. 

Dr. Tammy Taylor is a hometown girl, as a native of Chester County and a proud graduate of Chester Senior High School.  She has had the distinct honor of serving in her home community for her entire educational career.  Dr. Taylor believes there to be no finer students, staff, or families than those in this GREAT community.  It is her desire for the world to know, as well.

She will continue to serve as principal of Great Falls Elementary School until a new one has been appointed.
