Lewisville Middle School students and staff gathered Friday for a meaningful Patriot Day program to honor and remember the lives lost during the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The entire student body attended the event, joining together in reflection and gratitude for the sacrifices made by first responders and military personnel.
Principal Mr. Brian Edmond opened the program with welcoming remarks, encouraging students to remember the importance of service, resilience, and unity in the face of adversity. His message set a respectful tone for the ceremony as students reflected on the significance of Patriot Day and the lasting impact of the events of September 11.
The Lewisville High School Brass Ensemble provided several patriotic musical selections, including a stirring performance of the national anthem. Their music helped commemorate the day while honoring the values and freedoms cherished by Americans.
The program's keynote address was delivered by former fire captain David McCain, who shared personal insights about the role of first responders and the importance of remembering those who bravely answered the call during times of crisis.
