Dear Parents or Guardians:
Students will be participating in statewide standardize testing in the coming weeks. These assessments are one measure of students’ academic achievement. Therefore, we must provide a testing environment that is conducive for success in order to get an accurate picture of our students’ abilities.
During statewide testing, no use of any electronic devices (e.g., cell phone, smartphone/watch camera, smart glasses, PDA, or playback device, etc.) that could allow them to view, access, retain, or transmit information for any state-mandated assessment is allowed by students. Only students who use an electronic device for documented medical purposes (e.g., glucose monitoring, cardiac monitoring) may be allowed access to the device(s) during testing.
In adherence to South Carolina Department of Education testing policy, each school in Chester County School District will collect and secure prohibited devices that are not allowable during testing. All devices will be returned to students at the conclusion of testing each day. Please note that the presence of unauthorized devices during state testing is considered a serious violation, resulting in disciplinary action and potentially invalidating the student's test.
Each school has posted their testing schedule on its website and social media channels to help you stay informed. If you have any questions or concerns reach out to your child's school directly. Your ongoing support is crucial to the success of our students, and we appreciate your collaboration in creating a fair and conducive testing environment.
Thank you for your continued support.
