Today, on Patriot Day, Chester County School District (CCSD) joins communities across our nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honoring the bravery of the first responders, service members, and ordinary citizens who demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of tragedy.
As educators, we recognize the importance of preserving the lessons of that day for future generations. Patriot Day reminds us of the strength found in unity, the power of service, and the resilience of the American spirit. We encourage our students, staff, and families to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made and the values that continue to bring us together.

📚✨ Today was International Literacy Day! ✨📚
Our 5th graders had a very special guest reader, Tom from 106.9 The Light FM, who drove TWO HOURS from Asheville, NC, to read to our students—and then TWO HOURS back home all to celebrate the importance of literacy with our kids! ❤️📖
Tom read The Story of Ruby Bridges by Robert Coles in honor of Ruby Bridges’ birthday, which is also today! 🎉 At 72 years young, Ruby’s story continues to inspire generations and remind us of the courage, strength, and power of education.
We are so grateful to Tom for making the trip and sharing his love of reading with our students! What a memorable way to celebrate International Literacy Day! 📚💙

Want EXTRA recess? Want POPSICLES? Well, Early Release Day is coming and we've got a cool challenge for our Cyclones.
On Tuesday, Sept. 15th:
✅ Classes with 80% or higher attendance will be entered into a drawing for 10 extra minutes of recess!
✅ Classes with 100% attendance will be entered into a drawing for popsicles AND 15 extra minutes of recess!
Every Cyclone counts! Don't let your class miss out on the fun. Be here, be on time, and let's make this Early Release Day the coolest one yet!

Congratulations to Kyrie Mills and Nova Barrs with Dr. Campbell and Mrs. Stripling from Chester Park Intermediate & Khloe Young and Dyquavious Meadows with Mr. Johnson from Chester Park Primary. These students were presented "I'm a CAT. 5 Cyclone" pass by members of the Cyclone Football team. These students were nominated by their teachers by exemplifying C.Y.C.L.O.N.E. characteristics each and every day of school. The "I'm a CAT. 5 Cyclone" pass will allow them one free admission to a regular season CMS or CHS athletic event.
