Attention Chester County School District Families:
We are aware of recent social media claims regarding threats to schools in several surrounding districts and states. Today, we received reports that some of these posts reference schools in our district. We have thoroughly investigated these reports and found no evidence that any of our schools are involved.
We encourage you to remind your students that it is always important to speak with an administrator or trusted adult if they have any concerns, whether from conversations or social media posts. Following the "See Something, Say Something" approach is essential, and we will investigate any reports related to the safety of our schools.
We also ask that you talk to your students about the impact of sharing unverified information, especially if the intent is to disrupt the school day or cause unnecessary panic. Posting or spreading these types of messages can be damaging to the mental health of our students, parents, and staff, and sharing misinformation only amplifies false claims. Please refrain from spreading such posts, particularly if they don’t pertain to our local schools.
Safety remains our top priority, and through collaboration, we will continue to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our schools safe.
