
We are absolutely thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Theresa Edwards on her recent appointment as the Coordinator of the CCSD Level Up Program. This is indeed an outstanding achievement that perfectly reflects her dedication and commitment to the educational field.
Ms. Edwards is not a new face in the Chester County School District. In fact, she has faithfully served our educational community for an impressive duration of 17 years. Throughout these years, she has held various positions where she demonstrated her exceptional skills and unwavering dedication to quality education.
Ms. Edwards started her journey with us as a Teacher, Instructional Coach, Interventionist, and Assistant Principal. Given her rich history and vast experience within the Chester County School District, we are confident that Ms. Edwards will excel in her new position as the Coordinator of the CCSD Level Up Program.

The Chester County School District is proud to announce that Ms. Kim Colvin has been appointed the Assistant Principal of Lewisville Elementary School. We extend our heartiest congratulations to Ms. Colvin, who has been a dedicated member of our educational community for the past 27 years!
Ms. Colvin's journey with the Chester County School District began as a teacher, and over the years, she has held various positions including Interventionist, Instructional Coach, Tutoring Supervisor, and Summer School Coordinator. Most recently, she served as the Literacy Coach for Lewisville Elementary. Her dedication to the institution and the students is evident in her versatile professional journey and commitment to the betterment of education.
Ms. Colvin holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from the esteemed University of South Carolina. She further expanded her educational expertise by earning a master's degree in educational leadership from Winthrop University.
Once again, we congratulate Ms. Kim Colvin on this significant achievement and look forward to the continued growth and success of Lewisville Elementary School.

In celebration of School Library Month, Dr. Sutton paid a visit to Lewisville Elementary School to read to students, and to inspire them to read every day. Thank you to Ms. Kornahrens and to ALL of our media specialists and school librarians for all they do for our students!

Today is National Administrative Professionals Day! This is an opportunity for us to recognize the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists, and other administrative support professionals who are central to all district schools and departments. Thank you!


The CCSD Visual and Performing Arts and Chester County Arts Council presents the 2024 CCSD Arts Showcase! Come support students from all over the county and see fantastic visual works and performances.
The event will be held at Chester Middle School on 5/2/24 at 5:30pm.


The Chester County School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Abram Scott as the Principal of Chester High School!
Prior to this, Mr. Scott served in the capacity of Director at the Freshman Academy of Boiling Springs High School. His previous roles include that of an Assistant Principal at BSHS. Mr. Scott brings a diverse range of educational and leadership skills to Chester High School. His professional experience encompasses serving students as a Special Education Teacher, Head Football Coach, and Athletic Director.
Mr. Scott received his bachelor's degree from Western Carolina University. He furthered his education at Georgia Southern University, where he earned a Master of Arts in Teaching Degree as well as a Certification in Educational Leadership.
Welcome, Mr. Scott, to Chester County School District!

It was a beautiful day at Cherry Park in Rock Hill as students from all over the region competed in the Special Olympics. Congratulations to all of our students who competed in this year's events!


Back in mid-March we stopped by Chester Park Inquiry for their regular Parent Night. Students and parents were hard a work getting prepared for spring testing. Thank you to these teachers and staff members for their dedication to student success!

The University of Florida University Literacy Institute (UFLI) returned to Chester Park Arts this week to observe CCSD teachers utilizing their innovative method to teach literacy to younger students. Ms. Peoples and Ms. Henry are pictured below in their second grade classes.

Lewisville Middle School hosted a career exploration fair today. All 5th-8th grade students met with vendors from various career clusters and played Career Fair BINGO. Thank you to all staff members and vendors for providing this opportunity to our students.

Board Announcement: Several members of Chester County Board of School Trustees along with leaders from Chester County municipalities and local Delegation will attend a Capital Projects Breakfast Meeting on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The meeting will take place at the district administrative office building at 509 District Office Drive, Chester, South Carolina.
The purpose of the meeting is to view a capital projects presentation by the administration with MPS Architectural and Thompson Turner Construction. There will be no business transacted nor will there be a quorum of members from any municipality present. There will be a quorum of school board members present.


School librarians spend long hours keeping the library organized. They are also devoted to helping our children find the resources they need to keep learning. We thank our School Librarians for their continued support and dedication to learning!
