
Last week, in collaboration with Voorhees University GEAR UP, renowned youth speaker Robb Holla, raised awareness on the dangers of vaping for over 1200 GEAR UP students in CCSD.

National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day: Today we acknowledge and honor those brave men and women who are the first line of defense for our schools. Thank you for all you do for the safety and security of our students and staff!


Bus Driver Appreciation Week in South Carolina is February 12-16, 2024. National Bus Driver Appreciation Day is February 22, 2024. No matter the day, we will always value, love, and support our school bus drivers. Thank you for your dedication to safely transporting our students!


The second intersession week for Chester County School District students will occur on February 20 - 23, 2024. Academic support will be offered for elementary, middle, and high school students on February 20 - 22, 2024. Schools have sent permission letters home with students who have been selected to participate.
Only students who receive and return permission letters should plan to attend school for academic support.
The elementary schedule for academic support during intersession will be 8 am - 12 pm. The middle and high school schedule for academic support during intersession will be 9 am - 1 pm. Breakfast, lunch, and transportation will be provided for these students at no cost.

This week, Dr. Sutton visited Chester Park Arts to observe students improving their reading using the UFLI method. This is an innovative partnership with the University of Florida Literacy Institute which improves literacy outcomes for young children who are learning to read.

Chester High School has been placed on a Secure Hold due to the school’s front office receiving a threatening phone call. This means that nobody may enter or exit the building. Law enforcement is investigating the area. We will provide updates to parents as needed.


Congratulations to our CCSD Support Staff of the Month for November 2023, Darlene Williams of Great Falls Elementary School! Ms Williams is a dedicated, committed, and loyal staff member. She is always willing to do whatever it takes for the success of students in her community.

These students represented their schools last week during the 2024 CCSD Spelling Bee. The top five will compete in March at the Carolina Panthers Stadium for the state spelling bee for NC and SC district winners!
