Thanks to the support of everyone who participated, those bikes were ordered and officially assembled today! Seeing the excitement on our students’ faces made it all worth it. They are already LOVING their new wheels!

Mrs. Alley's first-grade students have been hard at work learning and growing this past week! 📚✨ Students practiced using number lines to strengthen their math skills and explored nouns in reading and language arts. We are so proud of their enthusiasm, focus, and dedication to learning each day!
Keep up the great work, first graders! 💙💛

Chester County School District is proud to be part of South Carolina's story, helping students build the knowledge, character, and skills needed to shape its future. We honor the generations who came before us and remain committed to preparing today's learners to lead tomorrow's South Carolina.
Happy National South Carolina Day from Chester County School District!

Mrs. Gaston's 4th graders recently explored the Native American economic system of bartering and trading through an engaging hands-on lesson! Students learned how Native American tribes exchanged goods and resources to meet their needs before money was used.
Through trading activities, students experienced the challenges and benefits of bartering while practicing communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. It was exciting to see them step into the role of traders and gain a deeper understanding of how early Native American communities worked together to support one another.
Way to go, 4th grade, for bringing history to life through active learning! 🌟👏

Mrs. Weir's 3rd graders put their engineering and science skills to work as they built marble ramps with curves and observed how a marble's motion followed the path of the ramp. Then, they tested what happened when the marble left the ramp and rolled across an open floor, discovering that it traveled in a straight line!
Hands-on investigations like these help our students explore the exciting world of forces and motion while making real-world connections to science concepts. Great job, Mrs. Weir's class! 🌟🎉

🎽 LES SPIRIT FRIDAY THIS FRIDAY!!
📅August 28, 2026
The class in each grade level with the MOST participation (students dressed in school colors or themed gear) will win a small prize!
💙💛 Break out your BLUE & GOLD and show your LES pride!

We love seeing our students actively involved in their learning, working together, and discovering how numbers connect in meaningful ways. Thank you, Mrs. Meacham, for making math fun and helping our young learners grow their number sense! ❤️➕➖

Ms. Coyle’s class is participating in the Adopt A Cow Discover Dairy Program.
"We will get to follow a real cow, learn about her daily life, what she eats, how farmers take care of her, and how milk gets from the farm to our grocery stores. We’ll also be able to connect what we are learning to science, reading, writing, and even math!
Most importantly, this is a fun way for us to learn about animals, farmers, food, and where our milk comes from. We are going to be our cow’s classroom family and learn something new about her throughout the year! "

Mrs. Gaston's 4th grade students put on their scientist hats as they investigated the relationship between mass and force! Students conducted a hands-on experiment by dropping ping pong balls and golf balls and observing what happened.
Through this engaging activity, students discovered how objects with different masses can create different amounts of force, helping them better understand important science concepts through real-world experiences.
We love seeing our students ask questions, make observations, and learn through exploration! Great job, scientists! 💙💛🧪

Mrs. Collins' 5th-grade students had a great time working with partners around the room to review parts of speech! Through collaboration, discussion, and movement, students strengthened their grammar skills while having fun learning together.
This engaging review will help prepare students as they begin their upcoming Expository Writing Unit, where they will use strong language and writing skills to inform and explain.
Way to go, 5th graders! We can't wait to see all the amazing writing that comes next! 💙💛📚✏️

This week, the Chester County School District successfully completed required lockdown drills at each school. These drills help ensure our students and staff are prepared and confident in emergency procedures.
CCSD extends its sincere gratitude to the Chester County Sheriff's Office for their partnership in conducting these drills, participating debriefing discussions, and demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and schools.
Together, we are working to maintain safe, secure learning environments for all.
