Friday November 1, 2024 LES hosted the first Atten-DANCE for the school year. 75 students were invited to attend based on having perfect perfect attendance (no absences, no early sign-out, or late arrivals) for the first 3 months of the school year. Students had a great time!
Tomorrow Tuesday, November 5, 2024, is Election Day. There will be NO school for students and staff.
PTO T-Shirt Order
Order and Money Are Due by Friday, November 8, 2024. Please use the form envelope that has been sent home to submit your T-shirt order. All prices and payment information are on the order form envelope.
On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, our community will vote on a $227 million capital referendum question to build a new Chester High School and Lewisville High School and make key additions to Great Falls High School. The image below shows an overview of the Lewisville High School project.

Report cards have not been printed and sent home due to a problem with PowerSchool. We were notified by the District that PowerSchool is actively working to correct the issue, and we will print and send report cards home as soon as this is resolved. Thank you for your patience!
The LES first nine-week Awards Programs will be tomorrow, Friday, October 18, 2024. Parents are welcome to attend. Do not come in through the front office; please pull around to the back and come in through the bell tower entrance. The schedule is as follows: 4th grade - 8:15 am, 2nd grade - 9:00 am, 3rd grade - 9:45 am, & 5th grade 10:30 am. These programs will also be streamlined live on Facebook.
CCSD is introducing My Ride K-12, a parent communication app, to its transportation operations!
My Ride K-12 is a mobile app integrated with student transportation software that allows both you and your student to access estimated times of arrival or departure for your bus. This helps ensure that you and your students are on time for pick-ups and drop-offs while making the bus route more efficient.
My Ride K-12 is now available for you to download on your Apple or Android mobile device. Simply search the app store for “My Ride K-12” to download and register yourself on the app.

Unity Day, is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month and has been recognized in the United States since 2011. To participate in Unity Day, individuals, schools, communities, and businesses wear or share orange to unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion to prevent students from being bullied. Unity Day will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024. We are asking all staff and students to wear orange on this day to show our togetherness.
REMINDER: Monday, October 14, 2024, is our District OEC Professional Development Day. There will be no school for students.
All normal school operations will resume on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
CCSD previously announced that the weather make-up day for Monday, September 30, 2024, would take place on November 25, 2024. Due to updated communication from the SC Department of Education, an eLearning Day can be used in place of physically making up the weather day in extreme circumstances, such as those associated with Hurricane Helene.
Therefore, the District has decided to move the weather make-up day to Monday, October 7, 2024, and designate it as an eLearning Day.
With asynchronous instruction, students work independently on the assignments provided. Teachers will advise students of all assignments for the day and will be available during normal school hours via email to provide support as needed.
The original decision to delay the make-up day until November was due to the closeness of the October 7th date, which would have had a greater impact on families and staff members, who already had plans scheduled ahead of time.
Half Day tomorrow Friday, October 4, 2024. Students will be dismissed at 11:15 am.
October 2, 2024, is National Custodian Appreciation Day. Make sure to let our Budd Group Custodians how much we appreciate them keeping our school clean!

Given a recent update from Chester County Emergency Management, all Chester County Schools will proceed on a normal schedule on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. We've been advised that road conditions have improved throughout the county, and residents continue to have their power restored.
We thank you for your continued support and patience as we ensure the continued safety of our students and staff members. We wish to give a special thank you to all first responders, and power restoration crews who have worked tirelessly over the past several days. Thank you!
Bingo & Book Fair Night October 1, 2024, is cancelled. The Scholastic Book Fair will still be open for students to shop during the school day, but the evening event is now cancelled.

CogAT & ITBS Testing
All 2nd grade students will be assessed October 16th-25th. The results of these assessments will be utilized to determine eligibility for the ACCENT (Gifted & Talented) program. A letter will be sent to each second grader prior to the assessment window with more information. Please be sure students get a good night’s rest the day before testing and have a healthy breakfast the morning of testing. Also, make sure students arrive to school on time as testing will begin promptly at 8:15 each morning. Students should not be absent during this time.

Chester County Emergency Management has informed us that a Tropical Storm Warning will be in effect beginning at 5 pm this evening. As such, all after-school and athletic events scheduled for Thursday will be canceled.
The District will remain on eLearning on Friday, 9/27/24.
