OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT – 17th Annual Ricky Campbell Football Jamboree MUSC Health Chester Senior High School

Due to current field conditions and out of concern for the safety and well-being of our student-athletes, the 17th Annual Ricky Campbell Football Jamboree sponsored by MUSC Health has been canceled. The best interests of our student-athletes will always remain our top priority!

We look forward to officially kicking off the regular season next Friday, August 22nd, as the Chester Cyclones travel to face Lancaster High School. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM at Lancaster High School.

Today, we join in celebrating Jamaican Independence Day, a day that honors the rich culture, resilience, and spirit of Jamaica. On August 6, 1962, Jamaica became an independent nation, and ever since, this day has stood as a symbol of freedom, pride, and identity.

To our Jamaican colleagues, students, and families, we celebrate with you today!

Our first day of school was filled with smiles, high-fives, and fresh notebooks! Superintendent Sutton made his rounds to every school, making sure everyone felt the excitement of a brand-new year. Let’s keep the good vibes rolling. We're off to an awesome start!

Dr. Sutton shared some inspiring words during our Transportation Office in-service, setting a positive tone for the year ahead. Our drivers are energized, motivated, and ready to safely transport students as we begin the new school year. Let’s roll!

We had a blast this past Saturday at the Back-to-School Bash in the City of Chester! It was great to see so many smiling faces and feel the excitement for the new school year. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a fun day!

Superintendent Dr. Antwon Sutton and Director of Marketing and Communications Chris Christoff attended the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Conference in Washington, D.C., representing our district on a national stage.

A huge congratulations to Dr. Sutton, who was honored with the prestigious NSPRA Superintendents to Watch Award! This national recognition is awarded to only 25 superintendents each year for outstanding innovation, leadership, and transparency in school communications.

Back-to-School season is just around the corner, and here are some important upcoming dates and reminders:

Secondary Student and Family Orientation will be held at each middle and high school on July 21, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on July 22, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Families will be able to register in person, pay any outstanding fees, and receive other pertinent information for the upcoming school year.

Our district-wide Meet the Teacher event will occur on July 31, 2025, from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m., and August 1, 2025, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Please get in touch with your child's school for additional information.

Join CCSD on Facebook Live for our Back-to-School 2025 Virtual Town Hall! Dr. Sutton and Senior Leadership will share updates on a variety of school-related topics and answer live questions from the community. The broadcast will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
