On Sunday, April 6, 2025, Jamaican teachers and educators from the Chester County School District participated in the 30th Annual Columbia International Festival at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbia, SC. The festival, held on April 5 and 6, showcased the diverse cultures represented in South Carolina through music, food, and performing arts. The Jamaican delegation proudly represented their heritage, engaging with the community and contributing to the festival’s multicultural atmosphere. Attendees had the opportunity to experience traditional Jamaican cuisine, music, and cultural displays, fostering a deeper appreciation for Jamaica’s rich traditions. The educators enjoyed connecting with other cultural representatives and festival-goers, making the event a memorable experience for all involved.

Superintendent Dr. Sutton made storytime extra special for National School Library Week by visiting every elementary school in the district to read to students! By sharing stories and sparking imagination, he hopes to inspire children to have a lifelong love of reading.
