Tuesday, January 21, 2025, is the 100th Day of school. The PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade classes complete many fun activities on this day to celebrate the number 100. If the other grade- level students and staff would like to join in the celebration they can dress up like a 100-year-old person (Kindergarten & 1st grade) or for the PreK students dressing in Bright/Neon Colors as they celebrate being 100 days Brighter!

The National Weather Service has given an update predicting potentially dangerous winter weather conditions tomorrow morning including falling snow/ice. Freezing temperatures will likely create icy road conditions, making it hazardous for our buses to operate while transporting students. For the safety of our school community, the Chester County School District will move to an asynchronous remote learning day on Friday, January 10, 2025. All after-school activities and athletic events scheduled for Friday-Sunday will also be canceled. With asynchronous instruction, students work independently on the work provided. Teachers will advise students of all assignments for the day and will be available during normal school hours via email to provide support as needed. Please ensure that students take home all necessary materials. All District staff members are also asked to work remotely. We will continue to monitor the situation and send updates as needed. Please continue to watch local weather forecasts and stay safe!

Winter Break December 23, 2024-Jan 3, 2025
Well, today's the day friends. This will be my last email report for LES, as it's December 20, and today marks my last day on duty. I don't even know what to say except for thank you! Thank you, LES, for being my best (and favorite) assignment EVER. I've made some great new friends and I had a whole bunch of fun. I had to save my best shenanigan for last, and tell everyone good morning and happy Friday, just like Mrs. Stone does (by the way, tell her thanks for inviting me to LES to do surveillance). Maybe we can get someone to do a survey to see if I should come back next year too- Mrs. Shaw, Mrs. Barron, and Ms. Wright, I'm giving you that job. I am so so proud of all of you and I am sure gonna miss all of you so, so much (even you Officer Threatt 😄). I hope that all of you have an awesome holiday break with your families! I love you all to the North Pole and back! Love, Roary Keep up with Roary's Adventures in the Link Below: https://www.chester.k12.sc.us/o/les/article/1899295

What do elves do after school? Gnome-work. Hehehe...I decided to relax and just "play" it cool (see what I did there?). Ms. Taylor's classroom was the perfect place to do this. Louie was in the kitchen cooking us a feast and I was getting some important phone calls and emails taken care of. Let's just say, cooking is not Louie's strong suit, and we will leave the cooking to those super awesome lunch ladies! My final good behavior shoutouts go to Miss Smith's class for good hallway behavior and Mrs. Williams' class playing well at recess, and Miss Treadway's class for doing well in the lunchroom. ROARy the Elf and Louie the Lion
Playing all those holiday songs last night really had me feeling the holiday spirit! Since December is the month for giving, I decided to help the Budd Group do some cleaning! I even got Louie to give me a hand with the cleaning. Today's shout out goes to Mrs. Pakozdy's & Mrs. Turner's morning class for coming in the building nicely and their afternoon class for their great behavior during lunch, Mr. G's class for their great work on their Christmas worksheets, and Mrs. Turner's class for following hallway rules and having a quiet line in the hall! Speaking of rules- I wanted to remind everyone that if you need to change how you’re gonna get home, it’s gotta be on good, old fashioned pen and paper. It needs the date of change, your name, and your parent or guardian’s fancy signature! Give it to your teacher or one of the front office ladies! This helps to keep you sweet little sugar dumplings nice and safe! See ya later, alligators! Love, Roary PS: Look Who Found Me at the Christmas Concert! You guys, I'm having so much fun here that I lost track of how many days it's been. Today is the REAL day 12. Anyway, Louie and I had so much fun with the wheelchairs that we did it again...but, poor Louie didn't last too long because he flew outta that chair like a rocket ship and he had some boo boos. Well, lucky for him, us scout elves are trained in first aid, so I fixed Louie right up in Nurse Cassie's office. By the way, she has lots of cool gadgets in there. Oh, I can't forget to give a shoutout to Mrs. Hudson's class for their excellent behavior in the hall after lunch and Mr. Proveauxs's class for how nicely they waited in the hall to use the restroom after recess! Also, I received a note from a helper teacher that says: "the entire 5th grade has been doing an excellent job when they come in and out during recess. Their lines are super straight and super silent. ALL CLASSES. They have had to adjust to a different hallway due to construction, and they are ROCKING IT! They are definitely setting an awesome example and proving they are LEWISVILLE LEADERS!" You guys are really rocking it! P.S. I heard there's a band concert tonight at the middle school. I'm a really great clarinet player...way better than Squidward...I think I might just sneak in there and play with the band! ROARy the Scout Elf Sighting It was brought to my attention today that it is VERY possible that ROARy will be making an appearance at the 7th & 8th grade Christmas concert tomorrow night at LMS in the gym at 6:30pm. See if you can spot ROARy and I'm sure Mrs. Foster and the band would really appreciate the support! They've been working really hard preparing! Where do Christmas trees go to school? Elemen-tree school!🤣 Happy Monday friends! Louie came to hang out again and of course, we found plenty to get into! We found this really cool chair thingy with wheels on it in Nurse Cassie's office (Louie said it's called a wheelchair)...Well, whatever it's called, we took turns pushing each other in it as fast as we could down the hallways. Don't tell Officer Threatt though or else I'll be wanted again...especially after I made his picture look so pretty the other day. Oh, I almost forgot to give a shoutout to Mrs. Carpenter's class for how quietly they were during their math workshop centers and Ms. Rallings' class for their excellent behavior at lunch on Friday! My time here is going by so fast, friends! Christmas break is only a few days away, so keep up the great work! See ya tomorrow! Mrs. Rallings 3rd graders have been studying the 6 different regions of SC & some pretty cool facts about SC. The rocks represent the Blue Ridge, the green glitter represents the Piedmont (we live here), the sand represents the Sandhills, the top soil represents the Inner Coastal zone, the rice represents the Outer Costal zone, & the blue glitter represents the Costal Zone. Fun Facts about SC: Capital - Columbia & it’s in the Sandhills region State Bird - Carolina Wren State Fruit - peaches (not GA) SC is the 2nd state to grow the most peaches State Nickname - The Palemtto State State Tree - the Palm Tree As we come into the Christmas season we need to all be reminded on how to be a good friend. Mrs. Rallings class took a stroll down the hall and had a mini lesson on kindness and being a good friend.
