Chester County School District will operate on a 2-hour delay Thursday, January 23, 2025, as overnight freezing may continue to cause hazardous driving conditions during the morning hours, especially on rural routes and side roads. The change will give all morning commuters and our buses additional time and daylight to reach school safely.
Students who ride the bus should arrive at their stop two hours later than usual. Similarly, all students and staff should report to their school buildings two hours later than their regular time.
We ask that everyone please exercise caution on the roads. Students should also continue to dress warmly, as colder than usual temperatures will continue through the end of the week.
Thank you and stay safe!

The latest weather data indicates higher than predicted snowfall in our area. We have been advised that temperatures will remain below freezing, causing hazardous road conditions beyond our initially planned 2-hour delay. After further consideration, and for the safety of our school community, all Chester County School District facilities will be CLOSED on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
February 17, 2025, will be an eLearning weather makeup day, as indicated by our academic calendar. Further details will be released at a later date.
Please continue to monitor local weather forecasts, and our social media pages for additional information. We will send updates to parents/staff as needed. Stay safe!

CCSD was out and about Sunday afternoon during the Annual MLK Day Parade in the City of Chester. Thank you to all of our wonderful student bands, cheer teams, and other student groups who came out in support!

The latest weather data indicates a chance of light snow developing after 5 p.m. this evening. As such, all after-school and athletic activities will be canceled for Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The District will also operate on a 2-hour delay Wednesday, January 22, 2025, as overnight freezing may cause hazardous driving conditions during the morning hours. This means that students who ride the bus, should be at their stop 2 hours later than normal. All students and staff should also report to their school buildings 2 hours later than normal.
We ask that everyone continue to monitor local weather forecasts and CCSD social media for the latest information. Parents/staff members will be directly contacted via phone call, text, and email with updates as needed. Parents, PLEASE ensure that your contact information is up-to-date and accurate in PowerSchool, so you do not miss any official school district announcements. Thank you!

The Chester County School District will follow its regular schedule on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. While there are currently no indications that adverse winter weather will have a heavy impact on our area, we will continue to monitor conditions closely.
Also due to colder-than-usual morning temperatures, we remind parents and students to please dress appropriately over the course of the week.
As always, if any schedule changes occur, CCSD will notify parents and staff directly through phone calls, text messages, and emails.

Today, we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. – a leader whose vision of equality, justice, and peace continues to inspire the world. Together, we can honor his dream and ensure it continues shining brightly for generations.

REMINDER: All CCSD facilities will be CLOSED on Monday, January 20, 2025, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. All normal school district operations will resume Tuesday.

Yesterday, family and staff gathered at Great Falls High for the annual District Spelling Bee. School champions from across the county competed for a chance to advance to Panthers Stadium in March. Congrats to the winner, Shaylee Stowe (LES), and runner-up A'livia Foote (CMS)!
The National Weather Service has given an update predicting potentially dangerous winter weather conditions tomorrow morning including falling snow/ice. Freezing temperatures will likely create icy road conditions, making it hazardous for our buses to operate while transporting students. For the safety of our school community, the Chester County School District will move to an asynchronous remote learning day on Friday, January 10, 2025. All after-school activities and athletic events scheduled for Friday-Sunday will also be canceled.
With asynchronous instruction, students work independently on the work provided. Teachers will advise students of all assignments for the day and will be available during normal school hours via email to provide support as needed. Please ensure that students take home all necessary materials. All District staff members are also asked to work remotely.
We will continue to monitor the situation and send updates as needed. Please continue to watch local weather forecasts and stay safe!
