CCSD was well represented at the North Central 2nd Annual Sickle Cell Awareness 5K! Staff from the Chester Park Elementary School of the Arts devoted their time and participated in the event. Thank you to North Central Family Medicine for continuing their partnership with CCSD!

The rain did not keep us from celebrating the ribbon cutting for the new CCSD Tennis Facility. Now students across the county will be able to practice and host games in their own backyard! Thank you to all who attended to support and make this a memorable event for our players.

Attention Chester County School District Families:
We are aware of recent social media claims regarding threats to schools in several surrounding districts and states. Today, we received reports that some of these posts reference schools in our district. We have thoroughly investigated these reports and found no evidence that any of our schools are involved.
We encourage you to remind your students that it is always important to speak with an administrator or trusted adult if they have any concerns, whether from conversations or social media posts. Following the "See Something, Say Something" approach is essential, and we will investigate any reports related to the safety of our schools.
We also ask that you talk to your students about the impact of sharing unverified information, especially if the intent is to disrupt the school day or cause unnecessary panic. Posting or spreading these types of messages can be damaging to the mental health of our students, parents, and staff, and sharing misinformation only amplifies false claims. Please refrain from spreading such posts, particularly if they don’t pertain to our local schools.
Safety remains our top priority, and through collaboration, we will continue to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our schools safe.

Today, we honor those innocent lives that were lost on September 11, 2001. We pay tribute to the survivors of that tragic day and express our gratitude to the courageous first responders who stood steadfast while our nation was attacked. We will never forget...

Snack Packs will be offered in school serving lines starting in September! The Snack Pack can supplement a student's bagged lunch, and is FREE for all students. These can also be considered a full meal, so students can have milk or fruits/vegetable from the serving line as well.

We want to give a special shout out to our friends at Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety, and to UNFI for their generous donations of school supplies for students in need. We also want to again thank the Chester Walmart location for their recent donations. Thank you!

A message from Superintendent, Dr. Antwon Sutton:
As many in the community are aware, our school district has been experiencing various challenges related to aging infrastructure, overcrowded classrooms, and the need for updated technology and resources to meet the educational demands of today's teaching and learning standards. I commend our staff, especially our maintenance team, for their continued efforts despite these challenges.
Over the past several years, we have conducted comprehensive assessments of our school facilities, engaged with community members, and consulted with experts to identify the most pressing facility needs across our district. These discussions and evaluations have led to the development of the proposed bond referendum to address the needs of our high school buildings.
The Administration and Board’s goal has been to prioritize the most critical needs while being mindful of the financial impact on our community. The Board first voted 4-3 for a $200M bond resolution to address the facilities in Chester and in Richburg. Given the overwhelming support from the Great Falls area to be represented on the ballot, the Board met to consider amending the bond amount to include the Great Falls High projects, instead of funding them through other means as originally intended. The Board voted and approved a new bond package in the amount of $227M.
I admire and applaud the enthusiasm and involvement of the Great Falls community in making their concerns known. I encourage each member of our community to engage with us in learning more about our facility needs and proposed solutions on the November 5th ballot. It is essential that all voices are heard as we plan for the future of our schools.
Thank you for your continued support of our schools and for your commitment to the education of our students. Your engagement in this process is invaluable, and I encourage you to stay involved as we move forward.
Antwon M. Sutton, Ed.D.
Superintendent
Chester County School District

Due to several road closures and flooding around Chester County, all schools and district offices will operate on a 2-hour delay for Friday, August 9, 2024.
All arrival and bus pickup times will be adjusted accordingly. We ask that everyone please maintain caution on the roadways and continue to follow our social media pages for any updates.
We will continue to monitor the situation. Stay safe!

The National Weather Service has given an update predicting potentially dangerous weather conditions in the morning due to the storm including flooding and winds up to 30mph. These conditions make it hazardous for our buses to operate while transporting students.
For the safety of our school community, the Chester County School District will move to an eLearning day on Thursday, August 8, 2024. All after-school activities and athletic events scheduled for Thursday will also be canceled.
Teachers will be available during normal school hours via email to provide support as needed. All District staff members are also asked to work remotely. We will continue to monitor the situation and send an update regarding operations for Friday.
Please continue to watch local weather forecasts, and stay safe!

WEATHER UPDATE: The District is currently monitoring weather conditions and working in conjunction with Chester County Emergency Management. As always, we will notify everyone in the event of any school closures or delays due to Tropical Storm Debby.
In preparation for a possible e-learning day, we ask that all parents please remind your children to carry home any necessary items or learning devices over the next several days.
The safety of our students, school buses, and staff traveling on the roads during potentially hazardous conditions remains a priority. Please continue to check our social media, or website for any updates. Also, the District will send out direct communications via phone, text, and email.
Thank you for your cooperation, and please stay safe.
